
Mr. Travis Michael Williams
Travis Michael Williams, age 29, died Saturday at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. A lifelong resident of Bulloch County, Travis was a 2000 Honor Graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Nevils. Travis enjoyed shopping, working on his computer, recipes, gardening, cars and trucks and had a passion for deer hunting. He was an honorary member of the Thompson Pasture Hunting Club. Travis loved life and touched the lives of numerous people through strong will and determination; he was an inspiration to everyone that knew him. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Helen Williams and his maternal grandfather, Harvey Coakley.
Surviving are his parents, Michael and Nancy Williams of Nevils; sister and brother-in-law, Lori and David Culberson of Nevils; a niece, Kinsley Culberson of Nevils; grandparents, George and Louise Williams of Nevils and Bobbie D. Morris of Portal; aunts and uncles, Janet Sapp, Donna Beasley, Mike Morris, David Williams and Jeffrey and Leah Williams and his cousins, Becky Kendricks, Barry Beasley, Cody Williams, Calob Williams, Austin Williams, Allyson Williams, James Vickery and Wesley Morris.
Visitation will be Monday April, 11 (2011) from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 12 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Eason officiating.
Interment will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Vivinea Williams Page
Mrs. Vivinea "Vi" Williams Page, age 79, died Saturday, October 9th, 2010 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility.
The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a 1949 graduate of Brooklet High School. She was a retired school bus driver with the Bulloch County Board of Education serving over 25 years. Mrs. Page was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she was a member of the Roscoe Roberts Sunday School Class. She had a heart for missions and a passion for teaching. Through the years she touched many lives through her involvement in missions organizations. Mrs. Page was a gifted seamstress and quilter. It gave her joy to share her quilts with others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Lottie Williams and a brother, A.J. Williams.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Truman Page of Brooklet; two sons and daughters in law, Ronnie and Debbie Page and Jeff and Beth Page all of Brooklet; a daughter, Patricia Shuman of Pembroke; two sisters, Virginia Hodges and Dianne Duke both of Brooklet and two brothers and a sister in law, Charles and Alceone Williams and Aubrey Williams all of Brooklet. Eight grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 10 (2010) from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (October 11, 2010) at 1 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Eason officiating, assisted by Rev. Jimmy Voyles. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens in Statesboro.
Pallbearers will be, Ronnie Page, Jeff Page, Michael Page, Matthew Page, Jared Page, Eli Page and Tyler Shuman. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Roscoe Roberts Sunday School Class, Barry Crowe, Greg Parrish, Freddie Ruarks, Kerry Hodges, Glennis Williams, George Williams and Doug Brannen.

Mrs. Jacquelyn Darnell Jones
Mrs. Jacquelyn Darnell Jones (Jackie) went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2010. Jackie was born in Stokesdale, North Carolina on May 12, 1928. She attended schools in Stokesdale and graduated in 1946. Jackie moved to Georgia in 1946 as a result of her marriage to Waldo Jones. Mr. Jones was a police officer and they lived in several small towns throughout South Georgia. Jackie raised four children during her lifetime. She retired from Cooper Wiss in 1991. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling, with the Great Smokey Mountains being her favorite spot. Jackie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jackie had many friends that made her life very happy. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. Jackie was preceded in death by her grandmother Sallie Jane Boles; her parents Elmer and China Alice Darnell of Stokesdale, North Carolina; husband Waldo Jones; sister and brother-in-law Inez and Howard Angel; sister and brother in law Cardine and Paul Vernon; brother and sister in law Lonnie and Grace Darnell, all of Greensboro; brother in law Russell Gray of Colfax, NC; four nephews, David Gray, Dudley Vernon, and James and Billy Angel. And a very special daughter in law, Sandy King Jones.
Survivors include: sister Iris Gray of Colfax NC; children Dan E. Jones of Statesboro; Donna Jones McDaniel of Buford, Georgia; daughter and son-in law Sherry Jones and Lon Davis of Nevils, Georgia; and son and daughter-in-law Charles Waldo and Jessica Jones of Manning SC. Grandchildren Jessica Shockey (Keith) and Cameron Jones; Robert Jones (Tina), and Angela Lovell; Adam and Joshua T. Davis; Ricki Lynn Bumgarder, Desiree Bumgarder, Kelsey Sparks and Jacob Jones. Great grandchildren William and Marleigh Jones and Olivia Shokey. Special friends Pearl Hagin and children.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14 (2010) from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16 (2010) at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson with Rev. Joe Eason officiating assisted by Rev. David Hagan.

Mr. Bobby Joe Newman
Mr. Bobby Joe Newman, age 79, died Saturday, July 17 (2010) at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility in Statesboro.
Mr. Newman was born in the Bay District of Bulloch County to the late Deamos Dewey and Jewell McElveen Newman. He was a graduate of Stilson High School and attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega, Ga. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving state side during the Korean Conflict. Upon completion of his military service, Mr. Newman resided in Augusta, Georgia, where he began his career with DuPont Company, at the Savannah River Plant in Aiken, S.C., serving as an instrument mechanic for 20 years, a project assistant for three years and an instrument buyer for 10 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. Newman returned to Bulloch County in 1997, where he built a home on part of his grandfather's farm and resided there until his death.
Mr. Newman was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Roscoe Roberts Sunday School Class. Mr. Newman was an avid musician and had a love for bluegrass music. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Johnnie Mae Edwards Newman.
Surviving are his wife of seven years, Shirley Hadden Newman, also a member of Trinity Baptist Church; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Teena Newman of Evans, Ga., and Derrell R. and Beth Newman of Augusta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Keller (David) Perry of Grovetown, Carter Newman of Evans, Kimberly, Chandler and Langley Newman, all of Augusta; two stepchildren, Dee Kramer of Ellabell and Kenneth Stewart of Savannah; and three step grandchildren, Ashley Kramer and Kaitlyn and Kasey Stewart.
Visitation will be on Tuesday (July 20, 2010) from 1-3 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Eason officiating, assisted by Elder Mike Newman. Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Mollye Nancy Eason

Mollye Nancy Eason, age 32, died on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at her residence. The Bulloch County native was a graduate and valedictorian of the 1995 class of Pinewood Christian Academy. Mollye was a 2001 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a BA in Communication Arts. She was a sister in the Kappa Delta Sorority.
Mollye had a love for travel, traveling extensively throughout Europe, the Caribbean and Hawaii. Following university, Mollye lived in Hilton Head, S.C. where she worked at Marriott International Vacation Club for several years. In 2003, Mollye moved to Waipo, Hawaii (Oahu) where she worked at Ko Olina Golf Club. Mollye moved back to Statesboro in 2006 and was working at Burns World Travel. She continued to enjoy frequent trips as a travel agent.
Mollye was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church where she actively participated in the Drama Ministry.
Mollye loved her family, friends, movies, acting, and the beach. She was incredibly friendly and full of life. She never met a stranger.
Ms. Eason was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Arnold Lavon and Evelyn Jones; and her paternal grandparents, Homer and Mary Eason.
Surviving are her parents, the Rev. Joe and Nancy Eason of Nevils; a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Barry Bauman of Arlington, Tenn.; a brother, Joseph Eason of Statesboro; nieces and nephews, Emily Bauman, Brett Bauman, Benji Bauman, Ellie Bauman; several aunts and uncles also survive.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26 (2009) from 5-8 p.m. in the auditorium at Trinity Baptist Church in Nevils, Ga.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 27 (2009) at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Trinity Baptist Church Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sean Kent, Russell Davis, Ross Mims, Chad Starling, Robb Kicklighter, Trent McEwen and Jarred Reddick. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Kappa Delta Sorority and the 1995 Class of Pinewood Christian Academy.

Mrs. Carolyn Ernestine Fountain King
Mrs. Carolyn Ernestine Fountain King, age 76, died Monday evening (July 20, 2009) at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Montgomery County native lived in Savannah, Ga., for 35 years before moving to Statesboro in 1986. She was a homemaker. Mrs. King was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Roscoe Roberts Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Bulloch County Horseman's Association.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Tholan King.
Surviving are two sons, Bruce Dexter King of Troy, Ill., and Clay King of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Dell O'Neill of Young Harris, Ga., and Annette Holton of Vidalia, Ga.; and a brother, Jerry Fountain of Oakland, Calif.
The funeral service will be Thursday, July 24 at 11 a.m. in the main auditorium at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Eason officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Roscoe Roberts Sunday School Class.

Mr. Mark R. Jenkins
Mark R. "Tadpole" Jenkins, age 54, died Monday, July 6 (2009) at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Mr. Jenkins was a native and longtime resident of Bulloch County and had worked at Ft. Stewart for the last 25 years.
Mr. Jenkins was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Nevils and enjoyed fishing and working on the family farm.
Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his father, Norman Jenkins; his wife, Jan Folsom Jenkins; and his sister-in-law, Debbie Bell Jenkins.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Jessi and Nate Pennington of Statesboro and Chancy Hannah Jenkins of Glennville; his mother, Sadie N. Jenkins of Pembroke; two granddaughters, Ashton and Avery Pennington of Statesboro; one sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Wendell Smith; two brothers, Jimmy Jenkins and Benny Jenkins, both of Pembroke.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 8 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Eason officiating. Pallbearers will be Gary Jenkins, David Jenkins, Henry Quattlebaum, Roger Quattlebaum, Danny Lanier, Billy Lanier, David Kinard and H.L. Hood.

Mr. J. Warren Williams
Mr. J. Warren Williams, age 87, passed away Saturday (June 20, 2009) at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, following an extended illness. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was the retired owner of the Community Freezer Locker.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Myrtle Williams. Both were longtime members of Trinity Baptist Church and the Roscoe Roberts Sunday School Class.
Surviving are a son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Kitty Williams of Tybee Island, GA; two daughters, and a son in law, Joyce and John Hatfield of Richmond Hill, GA and Jackie Harvey of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, J. Brooks Williams of Savannah, GA; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many friends and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro (click for directions).

Mr. Johnnie P. Brant

Mr. Johnnie P. Brant, age 56, died Sunday, June 14 (2009) at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital in Columbia, SC after a short illness. Mr. Brant was a native of Liberty County and had lived in Statesboro (Bulloch County) for thirteen years.
Mr. Brant was a dedicated member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as a Bible study leader of the Soul Searchers Sunday School Class. Mr. Brant was also active in the Drama Ministry, the Senior Adult Ministry, church photography, and many other ministries at Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Brant was beloved by his church family and Mr. Brant loved the church.
Mr. Brant was the manager and a registered pharmacist at Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Statesboro. He enjoyed working as a pharmacist, spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and was an avid photographer. Mr. Brant attended Bradwell Institute (high school) in Hinesville, and Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, class of 1977.
Mr. Brant was preceded in death by his father, John Brant.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Jones Brant of Statesboro; his mother, Elisabeth Brant of Midway; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Suzanne Chumley (Joel) of Guyton, Katie Herbst (Issac) of New York, and Laura Wells of Statesboro; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Justin Brant (Jennifer) of Midway, and Seth Brant of Statesboro; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny Brant (Rhonda) of Midway and Larry Brant (Bonnie) of Midway; five grandchildren, Makayla Brant, Makenna Chumley, Tyler Brant, Sammy Brant and Meira Herbst; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home in Statesboro.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the main auditorium at Trinity Baptist Church in Nevils.
The body will lie in state one hour prior to the memorial service and the burial will follow the memorial service in Trinity Memorial Cemetery at Trinity Baptist Church in Nevils.

Mr. Brant's wife, Mrs. Lynn Brant, is the director of Senior Adult Ministries and the director of the Children's Choir. Lynn is the sister of church members Mr. Alfred Jones (Fonda), Mrs. Nancy Eason (Joe), and Mrs. Patricia Rushing (Jim).
Mr. Brant has two children who are church members, Seth and Laura.
